I'm 12 years old and I have acne in the middle of my forehead. I have a side bang but I put that up 1/2 of the time. I'm seeing a dermatologist soon, but it might be a while. Until then, can anyone help me?
Some treatments I've tried are
-Neutrogena 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment
-Neutrogena On-The-Spot acne treatment
-Neutrogena Deep Clean
-Neutrogena treatment pads
-Acne Free 3-Step
-Clean & Clear Morning burst
-Clearasil Acne Cleansing Gel Wash
-Clearasil Pore Cleansing Pads
-Noxema Deep Cleansing Clean
-Noxema Triple Clean
I've also tried some home remedies:
-Raw egg
-Milk and honey
-Steaming Water
-Toothpaste
-Oatmeal
I also wear make up, the products I use are either powder or a foundation but my make up isn't oil based and they're supposed to prevent acne too.
Are there foods I shouldn't and/or should eat?
Help!
Believe it or not, Acne has absolutely nothing to do with what you eat. A Dermatologist is your best bet. I know you have an appt. but in the mean time you should stick with one good 10% Benzoil peroxide wash (Oxy,& similar) and a hypoallergenic make-up(Covergirl has many) and try not to mess with it, easier said than done, I know. You'll feel much better once you see your Md. In the mean time, all us gorgeous girls have dealt with acne! Try not to be self concious. At your age, I bet you can find At Least 10 kids in school today that have way worse acne! : - )
You can clean your skin with apple cider vinegar as a simple home remedy. Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

I'm 16 and have tried pretty much everything you have, plus birth control pills geared towards acne, weekly facials and ProActiv. Nothing has worked…until I went to a dermatologist and get antibiotic pills, face wash, and cream (used before bed) and its actually working!! My advice is to ask your derm. about that. Also, do NOT try Acutane! I have talked to several people that have and for some people they never get acne again, but others do and they have joint problems and their skin is constantly dry (even AFTER the go off of it).
Good luck!
(by the way, using cotton balls to hold warm saltwater on a zit for 5 min will help reduce redness for a few hours)

examine foods high in iodine. Watch out for multi-vitamins (some contain iodine). Be aware of some junk foods such as potato chips, corn chips, etc. Keep your diet low in fat and sugar. Eating a properly balanced diet ensures that your body gets the proper nutrients and therefore promotes healthy skin.

Hi,
Acne was a huge problem in my teens. I tried every over-the-counter product I could find, but most just ended up breaking me out or burning my skin. I am very glad to say that this book uncovers a natural way to clear your skin, and not some drug that will only hide the problem.

DIET is KEY.
*don't do and/or eliminate as much as possible*
-soda
-sugar/corn syrup
-meat/dairy/eggs
-processed food
-fast food
-(partially) hydrogenated oils (almost in everything)
-additives
-fried foods
-white bread/flour
-beer, to a lesser extent (if you must drink, drink a little wine)
*eat as much as possible*
-SALADS (at least, 1 a day)
-fruit (not canned)
-fruit juice (100%)
-organic
-whole foods
-raw foods
it may take a while for your system to cleanse, but:
-be consistent
-exercise (lower body-running/sit-ups)
-osteopathic adjustments (spine)
-and make an effort to REALLY enforce those dietary guidelines as much as possible; not just a little, but a real effort. read those labels. if you can't afford to shop at a health food store or your parents don't eat that way, be prepared to get a job.
You want to keep a 80% alkaline to 20% acid balance in your system; which might be difficult at first, but stick with it (it may take a few months), but, I guarantee, you'll see an improvement; the longer you stick with it, the better your complexion will continue to get.
