Can't get rid of stubborn acne! Skin is dry so Benzoyl Peroxide just does not help :(?

Hi Everybody,

I'm starting to really get depressed because of this. I am a very clean person and I take really good care of myself but there just seems to be nothing i can do about the acne on my face.

It started this summer randomly, I am 19 but a very late bloomer in terms of puberty. But the zits I get seem to be worse than just the average hormonal ones. They are all over my cheeks, jaw, and chin area and I keep thinking I'm making progress but I never do.

I have tried everything, eating only good foods, tons of water every day, proactiv for 6 weeks, NOTHING works. Everyone says Benzoyl Peroxide is like this miracle cure for acne but it does nothing for my skin except make it red, irritated, and dry. My skin is naturally just not greasy or oily at all which is why I cannot figure out how the hell this keeps happening. I have also been washing my pillowcase all the time, I never NEVER touch my face unless I'm cleansing (which I do twice a day)

I am starting to get like painful cysts and stuff and I just need some advice, anything; especially if any of you are at all familiar with my skin type (dry but not ridiculously so, pretty fairskinned).

Thank you so much, I could really use a push in the right direction. I do not want to do accutane because 1. my skin isn't even oily so i don't know how much it would help and 2. id like to try to do this in a way that wont change my lifestyle lke the side effects of depression and everything with accutane

Dude I really do feel for you

I have suffered from this stubborn disease for over 25 years but it was at its worst when I was 19

Its obvious you are suffering from the worst part what I call trial and error disease. Meaning you have to keep trying things until you find something that works.

You may need to go to a dermatologist and you may be a candidate for accutane.

Just hang in there and things will get better.

Ladies…any special face wash during pregnancy?

Posted under acne by admin on Tuesday 6 January 2009

I was wondering who is using what to try and keep away that awful acne that comes along with pregnancy. How does it work? Any failed treatments. Right now I am just using plain old Clean & Clear foaming facewash for sensitive skin. I havent really experienced any breakouts im just trynna be cautious!! Im about 24 weeks. Should i be expecting them to come? *2nd Pregnancy*

I love Cetaphil Cleanser. It's really gentle, but I have dry, acne prone skin. I think if you are 24 weeks and havent experienced breakouts yet, you are doing well!!! I would stick with your current routine.

Congrats!!

Acne question … [NEED SERIOUS ANSWERS]?

Posted under acne by admin on Tuesday 6 January 2009

SO I`ve been searching yahoo and google, etc . for ways to get red of white heads and blackheads . I`ve also searched for natural toners without chemicals . I`ve found SOOO many different answers and I seriously don`t know which ones are correct and which ones are not . I`ve heard of rosewater as a toner , witch hazel but I don`t have any of those. I`ve also heard of lemon juice . Does that work ?!? As for the acne treatments, I've heard to put toothpaste on pimples as a spot treatment. I've tried it, and it doesn't work too successfully. For blackhead removal, I've heard of yogurt and banana paste, but I haven't tried it yet.. Does it work? Have you heard of this? Also, I've heard of putting 3 coats of egg white (not yolk) on your face, and then washing it off and putting on lemon juice as a toner, followed with using a moisturizer. So basically my question is do those things work ? And what could I use to wash my face with? How long will the treatment need to be done in order to see results? ANd what's a good natural toner I could use?
Thank you for taking the time to make someones life a little bit better. :) Proactive is so expensive though .

Also, my sister is an esthetician, and she's been giving me occasional facials, and they have been helping, but I want to speed up the process.

neutragena [or however its spelled] kit.works great, you'll see results in 3 days.HUGE results. you can find it at walmart. it has a face cleanser, day cream and night cream. you can still wear it with any make up. you might want to get a moisturizer to put on every few days so that your face isnt dried out and starts to peel. =]]
